serie-cp

The CP Series is Fractel's fitted race day cap, cut to a smaller 56cm circumference for a structured, low-profile fit.

Structure Up Front, Airflow at the Back

New panel construction adds structure through the crown, and a pre-curved, firm peak gives clean sun coverage without adding bulk. At the back, SOLARA mesh uses an open honeycomb weave with four-way stretch, so heat and sweat escape fast when the pace picks up.

Part of our wider running caps range, alongside the C-Series for an everyday ponytail fit and the T-Series for off-duty trucker styles.

FAQs

What actually makes a cap a fitted race day cap rather than a training cap?

Race-day caps like the CP-Series trade some of the coverage and structure of an everyday cap for a lower profile, lighter build and a more locked-in fit, so nothing shifts or catches wind when you're moving fast.

Should I train in my race-day cap before race day?

It's worth doing at least one hard session in it beforehand. A fitted cap feels different to a relaxed everyday cap, and race day isn't the time to discover the fit isn't right for you.

Will a fitted race day cap feel too tight over a full marathon?

The CP-Series runs a smaller 56cm circumference and a lower-profile shape by design, but it's still adjustable. Dialled in correctly, it should feel secure rather than tight, even hours into a race.

Do race caps give up sun protection for that lighter fit?

There's a small trade-off. Race caps use thinner, more ventilated fabric than an everyday cap, and UPF coverage sits on the crown rather than the brim on any Fractel cap. For a one-off race effort that's a fair swap for the weight and airflow you get back.

Does the weight of a fitted race day cap actually matter over a full marathon?

It adds up more than you'd think. A heavier cap that felt fine at the start can feel noticeably heavier by the final few kilometres, especially once sweat soaks in. That's exactly why race caps trim weight and bulk compared with an everyday cap.
